AI landscape management
Most organisations now have agents, robots, copilots and AI-written code arriving faster than anyone can keep track of. We bring them under control: orchestrated in one place, with the code checked and the data protected.
What is AI landscape management?
AI landscape management is the work of knowing what AI and automation is running in your organisation, controlling what it can do, and making sure it is secure. It covers three things: the agents and robots doing the work, the code being written for and by AI, and the data all of it touches.
Your people are already using AI. The question is whether you can see where, and what data goes with it. The need has grown quickly. Teams are building agents in several tools at once, developers are shipping far more code with AI assistants, and sensitive data is flowing into prompts and models. Without a plan, each of these becomes a security, privacy or audit problem. We treat them as one landscape, with one set of controls.
Three layers, one landscape
Orchestration
Agents, robots and people coordinated in one place on UiPath, with access controls, scheduling, monitoring and a full audit trail of every action an agent takes.
Code security
AI assistants write code faster than teams can review it. OpenText Fortify checks it for security flaws before it reaches production, and helps developers fix what it finds.
Data security
OpenText Voltage finds and classifies sensitive data, then protects it with encryption and tokenisation, so it stays protected wherever it travels, including into analytics and AI.
Governance you can show
One view of what is running, who approved it and what it can reach, for your risk committee, your auditors and the Privacy Act 2020.
Where we start
Common first pieces of work:
AI and automation inventory
A map of every agent, robot, copilot and AI tool in use, what each one can access, and who owns it.
Agent orchestration
Bringing agents built in different tools under UiPath Maestro orchestration (Flex delivered New Zealand’s first Maestro go-live), with guardrails, escalation to people and logging.
Secure code pipeline
Fortify added to your build pipeline, so AI-assisted and human code is scanned on every change, not once a year.
Protecting data before it reaches AI
Sensitive fields discovered and protected with Voltage, so customer data can be used in analytics and AI without being exposed.
AI use policy and controls
A practical policy for staff use of AI assistants, backed by technical controls rather than a document nobody reads.
Ongoing assurance
Scheduled scans, access reviews and reporting, so the landscape stays governed as new agents and tools arrive.
Platforms
We work with platforms built for regulated, enterprise environments. We are a UiPath partner and an OpenText partner, and we implement Protegrity.
UiPath
Orchestration for agents, robots and people: scheduling, access control, monitoring and audit.
OpenText Fortify
Application security testing: static and dynamic analysis of code and running applications, with AI-assisted help to fix what it finds.
OpenText Voltage
Data discovery, classification and protection, including format-preserving encryption and tokenisation.
Protegrity
AI security and data protection: tokenisation, encryption and guardrails for data used across cloud, analytics, AI models and agents.
How we work
Discover
We inventory the agents, robots, AI tools, code pipelines and sensitive data in scope, and rate each for risk.
Prioritise
We agree the controls that close the biggest risks first, in terms your risk and audit teams can sign off.
Implement
We put orchestration, code scanning and data protection in place, starting with one system or team and proving it works.
Run and report
We keep the controls current as new agents and tools arrive, and report on the landscape to your leadership.
Why Flex Consulting
We have been building enterprise automation for New Zealand organisations including Foodstuffs North Island, SkyCity, Craigs Investment Partners, Contact Energy, Chorus, the University of Auckland and Mercury, so we know where agents and robots touch data and systems in practice. We are a UiPath partner and an OpenText partner, which means orchestration, code security and data security come from one team that understands how they fit together.
Questions we are asked
What is AI landscape management?
AI landscape management is knowing what AI and automation is running across an organisation, controlling what it can do, and keeping it secure. It covers the agents and robots doing the work, the code written for and by AI, and the data they use.
Why does AI-written code need extra security checks?
AI coding assistants let teams produce far more code, but that code can still contain security flaws, and review effort has not grown at the same pace. Automated security testing such as Fortify checks every change before it reaches production.
How do we stop sensitive data leaking into AI tools?
Start by finding and classifying sensitive data, then protect it at the field level with encryption or tokenisation so it is useless if exposed. Pair that with a clear staff policy and technical controls on which AI tools can be used.
